HBO SHORT FILM COMPETITION

HBO SHORT FILM AWARD - Est. 1998

The HBO Short Film Competition is one of the most prestigious platforms for emerging filmmakers. Five finalists' films are screened before the festival audience (on the eve. of Thursday, July 7, 2011) and each vie for a grand prize of $20,000. In addition, finalists are traditionally offered a broadcast deal on HBO and the opportunity to showcase their work in over 250 million homes. Talent discovered through this competition include filmmakers Sylvain White (The Losers, Stomp the Yard), Frank E. Flowers (Haven) and Saladin Patterson ("Psych", "The Bernie Mac Show" and The Fighting Temptations).
