American Black Film Festival (ABFF)

The American Black Film Festival (ABFF) is dedicated to recognizing and fostering Black talent and showcasing quality film and television content by and about people of African descent. Its mission is to strengthen the Black entertainment community by encouraging resource sharing, education and artistic collaboration.

Today the ABFF stands as the preeminent pipeline for Black artists in the film industry, having showcased more than 1,500 narrative feature films, documentaries, shorts and television series as well as digital content.

In response to the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic and its disproportionate impact on communities of color, the 2020 ABFF was held as a virtual event, ABFF Online Edition, attracting viewers from 87 countries. Continuing the tradition of the live festival, ABFF Online Edition included independent and studio screenings, celebrity conversations, talent showcases, Hollywood panels and business of entertainment seminars, along with virtual social events and product promotions.

The festival will return to Miami Beach in 2021.
