Press Room

On behalf of Jeff and Nicole Friday and the entire ABFF team, we thank you for your interest in covering the 27th American Black Film Festival. Our media credential application process is now open through April 14, 2023.

Here are a few important items to note:

  • ABFF Media Credentials will be provided to a limited list of qualified media outlets, which do not include Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.
  • Due to limited space, we are not able to accommodate large media crews that include executive producers, supervising producers, talent wranglers, etc. Credentials will be limited to no more than two per outlet.
  • Media credentials are required for each press individual seeking to cover the festival, including photographers.
  • Media credentials will grant at least one press representative per outlet access to our lineup of over 100 independent films, spotlight screenings (courtesy of major studios, networks and streamers), talk events, and the Best of ABFF Virtual Awards presentation.
  • Still photography or video is not permitted at ABFF events. Videographers and photographers will have access to our red carpet events and the ABFF Press Room.
  • ABFF encourages all credentialed media outlets to participate in media interviews coordinated by the ABFF Press Team, which allow outlets access to festival participants — including filmmakers, celebrities, panelists and industry executives. A schedule of media interview sessions will be provided closer to the event date.

The ABFF Press Room press@abffventures.com is a resource for all festival publicity material needs, including the 2023 ABFF Media Credential application form, press releases, executive bios, images and other information.
