ABFF 97 - Our Stories. Your Move.

ABFF97

Bringing independent films to the big screen.

ABFF97 is the theatrical distribution initiative of the American Black Film Festival, bringing select independent films to audiences across the country.

Named for ABFF’s founding year, 1997, the initiative builds on three decades of discovering filmmakers, championing emerging talent and connecting stories with audiences. ABFF97 extends that legacy beyond the festival through theatrical releases, supported by marketing, publicity and audience engagement.

AMC Theatres will serve as the initiative’s inaugural theatrical provider. The first slate of films and release dates will be announced at a later date.
